Following Saturday's reported trade that sent Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders, the list of 2025 San Francisco 49ers draft picks now looks a bit different.

The 49ers have reportedly agreed to a deal that sends Deebo to the Commanders in exchange for a fifth-round selection in this year's NFL Draft. The trade won't be finalized until the new league year begins on March 12th, but San Francisco has essentially said goodbye to its longtime wide receiver.

While a return of only a fifth-round pick in April's draft doesn't seem like much for the 49ers, it likely has to do with what the Commanders also reportedly agreed to in order to acquire Samuel.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Saturday, Washington will reportedly be "taking on the remainder of Deebo Samuel’s contract and paying his full $17.55 million salary for the 2025 season."

Sixth Round - Pick No. 189
Seventh Round - Pick No. 228 (From Carolina)

While the 49ers will look to fix some of their roster when free agency begins later on this month, they have the potential to add some really talented prospects with all of their selections in this year's NFL Draft.

Hopefully, San Francisco is able to improve its roster enough during the next few months so that they can get back into the playoffs next season.
