This could go either way.

Brandon Aiyuk’s time with the San Francisco 49ers is going to come to a merciful end soon. How exactly it happens and when is anyone’s guess, but at some point, the Niners will have to release him.

That will make him a free agent, and Aiyuk has already made it very clear where he would prefer to go. His social media activity has been very Washington Commanders-focused, so he’d clearly like to reunite with quarterback Jayden Daniels, whom he played with at Arizona State University.

Aiyuk could very well end up with Daniels, but let’s take a look at three teams the 49ers would love for Aiyuk to go to, assuming he will behave the exact same way he has with San Francisco the last several years.

Of course, it could be a nightmare if he ends up playing well, but it seems safer to assume the former rather than the latter at this time.

Seattle Seahawks

How glorious would it be to see Aiyuk come in and start causing trouble with the Seahawks. Maybe he’d be on his best behavior, but guys like Aiyuk seem like troublemakers no matter where they go.

The Hawks don’t exactly have a huge need for receiver, so they probably don’t want the headache, but they may think they can recuperate him and turn him into his former self.

It would be amazing if he caused problems for Seattle, so that would be his most ideal landing spot.

Los Angeles Rams

Obviously, the Rams are a close second when thinking about what team Aiyuk could bring misfortune to. Along with the Seahawks, they are incredibly stiff competition in the NFC West, so anything that throws them off or creates a distraction would be ideal.

Pairing Aiyuk with Puka Nacua seems like it could be a real meeting of the minds, so who knows what kind of trouble those two would get up to if they were teammates.

Philadelphia Eagles

This one is actually a little more feasible because the Eagles traded away A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots. Maybe Philly would be willing to take a chance on Aiyuk and see if he could find his old form.

There’s also a very real possibility no team will want to touch Aiyuk because of his behavior and since there is so much uncertainty around him.

But if he went to one of these teams and continued to wreak havoc, he probably wouldn’t last long, but at least he’d create some headaches for a team the Niners truly dislike.
