After defeating the San Francisco 49ers 41-6 in the divisional round of the playoffs, the Seattle Seahawks will be hosting the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game.

A big storyline in that game is how Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will fare. Darnold was, of course, on the Niners in 2023 and served as Brock Purdy's backup.

Darnold is just one of a number of prominent players who have gone from San Francisco to the Seattle over the years.

Here we take a look at the three other such players.

RB Ricky Watters

Running back Ricky Watters was a second-round pick for San Francisco in the 1991 NFL Draft .

Watters spent his first three seasons with the 49ers, earning Pro Bowl selections in all of those seasons. His final season with the team culminated in a victory in Super Bowl XXIX over the (then) San Diego Chargers.

The next season, he would join the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent. He was with the Eagles from 1995 to 1997, earning two more Pro Bowl selections in that stretch.

In 1998, Watters then joined the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent, where he would spend his final four seasons before retiring.

LB Julian Peterson

Linebacker Julian Peterson was a first-round pick (16th overall) for the 49ers in the 2000 NFL Draft.

Peterson spent his first six seasons with San Francisco, earning Pro Bowl selections in 2002 and 2003. He also earned a first-team All-Pro selection in 2003.

In 2006, he signed with the Seahawks as a free agent. He went onto earn three Pro Bowl selections in his three seasons with Seattle.

In 2009, though, the Seahawks traded Peterson to the Detroit Lions. There, he would spend the final two seasons of his 11-year NFL career.

WR Jerry Rice

A 49ers list is never complete without mentioning the GOAT, Jerry Rice.

The Hall of Fame wide receiver is best known for his accomplishments with the 49ers. He spent 16 seasons with San Francisco.

In that time, he earned 12 Pro Bowl and 10 first-team All-Pro selections. Rice also won three Super Bowls as a member of the red and gold.

In 2001 Rice's time with the Niners came to an end and he signed with the (then) Oakland Raiders in free agency. He played the next three full seasons with the Raiders, getting named to one more Pro Bowl.

Six games into the 2004 season, the Raiders traded Rice to the Seahawks. He would play his final 11 games with Seattle.

Rice's 208 career total touchdowns and 22,895 career receiving yards both remain all-time NFL records to this day.
