4 veterans who won't be on 49ers roster come Week 1

It's a good problem to have, but the 49ers roster is so stacked, they'll have to get rid of some quality talent ahead of Week 1.

No. 1: 49ers cornerback Ambry Thomas

Similar to Jaylon Moore, it sure seems as if the 49ers have completely soured on cornerback Ambry Thomas, one of their two third-round picks from the 2021 NFL Draft who at least showed some promise toward the end of his rookie season.

Only to be relegated to a complete afterthought a year later.

The Niners' cornerback room is a little questionable, although Charvarius Ward and Isaiah Oliver will occupy one boundary spot and the nickel spot, respectively, leaving only the other boundary positon up for grabs.

Based on last year's performance, fellow corner and 2021 draftee Deommodore Lenoir looks to be the favorite, although he'll be challenged by 2023 rookie Darrell Luter Jr.

Probably not Thomas, though, who'll have to fight like heck to cling to a back-end-of-the-roster spot on the depth chart.

We don't see it happening, though.
