3 trades 49ers will regret not making at 2023 NFL trade deadline

Perhaps the 49ers should have traded just a wee bit more prior to the NFL trade deadline.

49ers missed trade No. 2: OL Ezra Cleveland (Vikings)

NFL trade deadline result: Traded to Jaguars

There was also plenty of speculation that the Niners would want to improve their offensive line, particularly the right side of it.

While the number of good-quality offensive tackles was small, a few guards were available. And considering some of the second-year struggles from right guard Spencer Burford, finding an upgrade would have been nice.

Former Minnesota Vikings guard Ezra Cleveland played on the left side, but he stemmed from a similar offensive system and played on the right his rookie year. Heading into free agency in 2024, and with Minnesota not interested in giving him a long-term deal, getting anything in return at the deadline was the goal.

Instead of the Niners taking action, the Jacksonville Jaguars stepped in and offered the Vikings a mere sixth-round draft pick.

San Francisco could have offered more.
