4 toughest defenses facing Brock Purdy and the 49ers in 2024

No. 2: New York Jets, JET-tisoning Gang Green to victory
Though 2023 fell short of this team's expectations, the New York Jets claimed the league's No. 3 overall defense when it comes to total yards allowed a game, which is quite an accomplishment considering the offensive woes Gang Green had after quarterback Aaron Rodgers was lost to injury in Week 1.
Head coach Robert Saleh's crew had the third fewest yards allowed with 292.3 a game.
The Jets also had the second-best passing defense with 168.3 yards allowed per game, and their secondary also snatched 17 picks from opposing quarterbacks. Defensive backs C.J. Mosley and Sauce Gardner help support a powerful secondary for the AFC East hopefuls.
This game will be played on the road for San Francisco in 2024, too, which makes for a formiddable challenge after traveling east to visit a hostile environment.
Newly signed defensive tackle and former 49ers player, Javon Kinlaw, is now a part of the Jets' defense. Taking a page from the Bears' offseason playbook, the Jets also signed Hasson Reddick away from Philadelphia.
