These free agents and recent cuts could be proverbial diamonds in the rough if signed by the 49ers before the regular season.

49ers free-agent target No. 2: CB Chris Farley

Chris Farley could be another lucrative option, should San Francisco look to build more depth in the secondary.

Hailing from Virginia Tech, he was the Tennessee Titans' first-round NFL Draft pick in 2021. Farley's biggest issue was he couldn't stay on the field.

He only played in 12 games between his first two seasons and missed all of last year. A change of scenery might revitalize Farley's career as a low-risk, one-year player, and the 49ers wouldn't be pressed into pushing him into a starting job.

Instead, considering some of their depth concerns, Farley could easily be a go-to option in case of injury attrition on the roster.
