3 simple trades 49ers could make to fix right side of offensive line

While he hasn't been a complete disaster, 49ers right tackle Colton McKivitz isn't looking like a long-term answer, and neither is right guard Spencer Burford.

49ers trade target No. 2: Kelvin Beachum, Cardinals

Kelvin Beachum

Alex Ballentine over at Bleacher Report actually came up with the idea of the Niners executing a rare inter-division trade with the Arizona Cardinals, who aren't going anywhere this season and have already ushered in a youth movement.

That movement has left 34-year-old veteran tackle Kelvin Beachum in lame-duck status.

Beachum is a reserve for the Cardinals now, and it's highly unlikely he'll come back to Arizona under any circumstances in 2024. And, as Ballentine pointed out, whatever deal he signs next season won't be enough to warrant a compensatory pick, meaning the Cardinals should accept whatever trade package is thrown their way.

Arizona still might balk at a seventh-round pick from San Francisco, since it might actually be better keeping him as a backup in that case.

But one of the 49ers' projected compensatory picks at the end of Round 6 is a slightly stronger offer, and it'd be better than not playing Beachum at all now and letting him walk for nothing in return.
