3 silver linings from 49ers' kerfuffle of a loss to Browns in Week 6

There were plenty of clouds over the 49ers' loss to the Browns, but there has to be some silver linings there somewhere, right?

Silver lining No. 3: 49ers lose no ground in NFC West

San Francisco is no longer the No. 1 seed in the conference despite the Philadelphia Eagles also losing their Week 6 matchup to the New York Jets, thanks to the tiebreakers. And the Detroit Lions, also 5-1, have crept up into the No. 3 seed with the 49ers in between.

Does that matter too much, though? Probably not yet.

More important right now is gaining or maintaining ground within the division, and the Niners didn't exactly lose much in the NFC West with the Seattle Seahawks falling to 3-2 after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals the same day.

The 3-3 Los Angeles Rams, whom San Francisco has already beaten once this season, did manage to defeat the Arizona Cardinals, but that has very little bearing on the 49ers' standings within the division right now.

The Niners are still in excellent shape to take home the NFC West crown, and they didn't exactly lose much within the entire conference either.
