It may not be Week 1 yet, but that isn't going to stop a Mock Draft 1.0 from going out early as we look at some potential draft picks for the San Francisco 49ers in 2025.

Some of you might groan, some of you may moan, but dammit we're going to go through some NFL Draft prospects together!

While we wait for the season itself to properly begin, it's always fun to look at the potential stars of tomorrow in the collegiate ranks as well. This will not be a piece where we look at them in depth, but just kick the tires on some potential San Francisco 49ers of the future.

For the benefit of simplicity, we'll be using the same basic draft order from last year. So, pick No. 31 for the Niners and then going through the picks they have from there.

No more fooling around, here's the first mock draft for the 2025 NFL Draft.

49ers too-early 2025 mock NFL Draft

Pick No. 31: Emery Jones, Offensive Tackle, LSU

A strong mauler with a basketball background, Emery Jones is part of a promising tackle class that the 49ers can look to take advantage of.

I mean, surely they take a tackle at some point. Right?

Pick No. 63: Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio State

Jack Sawyer hasn't quite lived up to the hype as a top recruit for Ohio State, but the 6-foot-4, 260-pound EDGE still showcased some potential in 2023 with 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two deflected passes.

If Sawyer makes a big jump in 2024, he might not be available. But as of right now, he's a Day 2 prospect with serious upside.

Pick No. 95: Jordan Burch, Defensive Tackle, Oregon

Here's another defensive line prospect with some high upside. Jordan Burch has flashed some pass-rush abilities with a combined 6.5 sacks in 2022 and 2023 for the Ducks.

The 49ers are always keen to invest in their defensive line, so this would suit their strategy of picking a strong pass-rusher for the interior.

Pick No. 100
: Zy Alexander, Cornerback, LSU

The 49ers are still searching for the missing link to finally have a stable cornerback trio to start games. They're close though, so maybe Zy Alexander can fill that role.

Alexander had a solid year at LSU after transferring from Southeastern Louisiana with two interceptions and seven passes defended. He has good size at 6-foot-2 and 188 pounds and could project well as a No. 2 cornerback.

And LSU typically produces great defensive backs anyway.

Pick No. 131: Will Putnam, Center/Guard, Clemson

The Niners value versatility in their offensive linemen, so someone like Will Putnam will appeal as he can play any of the three interior positions and could be a suitable backup or spot starter.

Putnam is a seasoned veteran entering his fifth year as a starter for Clemson. He projects best as a center in the NFL but has two years starting experience as a guard.

Pick No. 172: Trey Zuhn III, Offensive Tackle, Texas A&M

The 49ers could stand to get a second tackle on the roster given the lack of depth at the position. Trey Zuhn III is a big blocker at 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds, but he is a bit inconsistent with his play.

There is room for him to develop, however, and he has shown some pro potential playing for the Aggies if he can just hone his technique.

Pick No. 205: Karene Reid, Linebacker, Utah

The Niners are pretty set at linebacker, but they could decide on a little extra depth. Karene Reid is a little undersized at 6-foot-0 and 227 pounds, but undersized linebackers have never been a problem for San Francisco.

Reid had 67 tackles, one interception, and four passes defended for Utah in 2023, and he flashed some potential as a pass-rusher with five sacks in 2022.

Pick No. 223: Nay'Quan Wright, Running Back, South Florida

The 49ers have three picks in the seventh round, it can be a pretty good bet one of these might be used on a running back.

Nay'Quan Wright is a change-of-pace back at 5-foot-9 and 196 pounds, recording 4.4 yards per carry in 2023 for 797 yards and eight touchdowns when playing for South Florida in 2023.

Pick No. 245: Namdi Obiazor, Safety, TCU

The 49ers are pretty set at safety, but they could add a fourth safety to the depth chart as well for 2025 and beyond.

Namdi Obiazor is a stout run defender who also recorded four sacks in 2023, so he could be an intriguing prospect.

Pick No. 247: Dacari Collins, WR, N.C. State

One wide receiver for the road, can't have too many of them, right? Dacari Collins couldn't break through at Clemson, which resulted in his transfer to North Carolina State at the end of 2022.

Collins does have good size, however, at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, so maybe the Niners can bring out his talent.
