No. 5: WR Dwight Clark, Round 10, 249th pick overall (1979)

This might be one of San Francisco's best "catches" in the NFL Draft.

The late great Dwight Clark's best moment for the 49ers was his 6-yard touchdown grab from quarterback Joe Montana in the 1981 NFC Championship game, forever immortalized as "The Catch."

Despite only having two wins in both the 1979 and 1978 seasons, San Francisco turned it around entering the 1980s by winning the Super Bowl in 1981 and 1984.

Clark was a big reason why, emerging as a favorite for Montana.

Clark finished his career with 506 receptions for 6,750 yards and 48 scores. After nine seasons in the NFL, the 49ers would retire his number, 87, and still honor him on Aug. 7 every year.
