The 49ers signed veteran safety Tashaun Gipson prior to the 2022 season. He wound up being a great addition despite expectations being very low. He had five picks for the Niners in 2022 along with 61 tackles.

Last season, he only had one interception but had 60 tackles. At the age of 33 years old, though, Gipson may decide that he no longer wants to play. With the 49ers expecting to have Talanoa Hufanga back from injury, as well as Ji'Ayir Brown who impressed as a rookie last season, it seems unlikely Gipson will return for the Niners.

But if a team is in need of a veteran safety, then Gipson would make a lot of sense given his two solid seasons in San Francisco.
