Predicting 49ers' 53-man roster after 1st week of preseason games

The 49ers' brass will face plenty of decisions leading up to final roster cuts. The first preseason game might have provided some insight into how those moves might shake out.

49ers' Linebackers

MLB Fred Warner

SLB De'Vondre Campbell

LB Dee Winters

LB Jalen Graham

LB Dre Greenlaw

LB Tatum Bethune* (added after Greenlaw goes on IR)

This is an unchanged group from the last time.

Rookie Tatum Bethune had a good showing on Saturday, solidifying himself as a good option to bring back to the roster once Dre Greenlaw goes on IR (reminder: he has to be on the roster and then go on IR in order to return this season).

The question is whether the 49ers will have to make a hard choice and keep Bethune around without cutting him at the expense of another player elsewhere on the roster.

Outside of that, there aren't a lot of question marks here. Dee Winters didn't have the best game against the Titans, but he should be a key contributor on this defense, especially while the team waits for Greenlaw to get back up to speed. Fellow second-year 'backer Jalen Graham should be useful on special teams.
