Predicting 49ers' 53-man roster after 1st week of preseason games

The 49ers' brass will face plenty of decisions leading up to final roster cuts. The first preseason game might have provided some insight into how those moves might shake out.

49ers' Offensive Line

LT Trent Williams

LG Aaron Banks

C Jake Brendel

RG Dominick Puni

RT Colton McKivitz

OL Jon Feliciano

OT Jaylon Moore

OL Ben Bartch

OL Drake Nugent

Another group with a bit of an unknown, with left tackle Trent Williams still holding out due to a contract dispute. Unlike the issue with Brandon Aiyuk, there has been little conversation about what's going on with Williams, who has already lost nearly $2 million in fines from missing training camp and now the first preseason game.

Other than that major question mark, I don't see there being much to consider here, although one change in the depth chart may be shaking out.

With Jon Feliciano missing time due to a knee injury, it looks like rookie Dominick Puni is making it difficult for the 49ers to put him on the shelf during his rookie season. Whether that ultimately means Puni starts over Feliciano remains to be seen, but for now, the rookie has shown enough to merit the spot.

If that happens, it could mean a shakeup in the offensive line depth, some of which could come down to whether Feliciano wants to stick around as an interior swingman or requests the chance to go find a starting job elsewhere. Let's assume that he's good to stick around for now.

Behind him, the depth is unchanged, although the final spot could be up for grabs for several options.
