3 pending 2024 free agents 49ers fans should worry about losing
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers don't have too many impact pending free agents for 2024, but there's one big name worth highlighting.
There's a good chance NFL free agency will be pretty easy on the San Francisco 49ers in 2024. If anything, there probably won't be a sizable exodus of starting players like there was in 2023.
In case you forgot, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, safety Jimmie Ward, edge Samson Ebukam, cornerback Emmanuel Moseley and right tackle Mike McGlinchey all departed after holding starting roles with the Niners the previous season.
San Francisco's pending free-agent class in 2024 doesn't include anywhere as near the number of starters.
That said, there's one name who highlights the entire group of players who could potentially depart next offseason.
He's one such player 49ers fans should worry about losing.

49ers pending free agent No. 1: Nick Bosa
Alright, in all seriousness, the Niners are going to do whatever is in their power to re-sign edge Nick Bosa, the 2022 sack leader and reigning Defensive Player of the Year, even if that contract makes Bosa the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL to date.
As expensive as that will be, both sides appear to be confident a new deal will get done, and San Francisco has historically rewarded such players right at the beginning of training camp the season prior to a contract's expiration.
However, Bosa's contract could be complex. Especially when looking at the guarantees. Anyone who has followed the NFL long enough will know that such contract talks can easily break down, and it might get to a point where the 49ers have to face the very real possibility of Bosa lining up for another squad in 2024.
That'd be devastating.
Until it's done, his extension isn't done. And that alone should be worrisome.
