The 49ers are going to go 0-17 in the regular season, aren't they?

49ers overreaction No. 4: Cameron Latu is also going to be a bust

Of the three third-round draftees San Francisco brought home, Moody and safety Ji'Ayir Brown being the other two, tight end Cameron Latu probably has the worst chances of making the 49ers' 53-man roster.

That's not an overreaction.

Latu did not play particularly well against Las Vegas, and his lost fumble won't earn him any points in Kyle Shanahan's book, particularly with a deep crop of tight ends on the depth chart behind George Kittle, who didn't play on Sunday.

What makes things more problematic for Latu, though, is he hasn't exactly had a strong training camp either, struggling with drops throughout.

It's still early for Latu, who does have the pedigree of being a third-round pick, which should help him over many of the other pass-catchers who are roster long shots anyway.

But, if Latu struggles again like he did on Sunday, it'll likely push him closer toward Round 3 bust status and potentially off the roster altogether.
