Niner Noise Podcast commiserates 49ers' Super Bowl loss
Like most of the 49ers' Faithful, the hosts of the Niner Noise Podcast needed a little time to process the way things ended at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
But fear not, faithful listeners, because your hosts, Robert Morrison and Akshaj Dwivedula, are back to get into all the feelings about the 2023 season and how it ended in disappointment for the San Francisco 49ers yet again.
Of course, the focus of the latest episode is on why the feelings are so real, even all these days after the Super Bowl, but the discussion also gets into why the game ended the way it did. Your hosts talk about what went right during the game, but also how the breaks of the game, in the end, favored the Kansas City Chiefs.
Also up for discussion is the role that linebacker Dre Greenlaw's injury had on the game. Not only that, but the guys get into why it's a bit cruel that the linebacker's Achille's tear not only impacted the 49ers' ability to win the 6th Lombardi Trophy in franchise history, but it also forces the Niners to prepare for life without one of their best defensive players for at least a decent chunk of the 2024 campaign.

Other topics include head coach Kyle Shanahan's decision to let now-former defensive coordinator Steve Wilks go, why the decision made sense for the 49ers, and who could be on the team's radar to replace him.
Then they get into the larger concept of "what's next" for the 49ers this offseason as they try to make 2024 even more successful than 2023 was, looking deeper at what holes need to be filled and what positions could be upgraded headed into next season.
Finally, they take a moment to congratulate the newest member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, former 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis, and Akshaj waxes eloquent about why Willis' induction ceremony this summer will be one to watch.
