49ers Week 2 OTA takeaway No. 2: Brock Purdy is throwing again

Having had his surgery back on March 10, Brock Purdy finally was able to toss a football again this week.

Here's what general manager John Lynch had to say about Purdy's recovery and throwing session, courtesy of 49ers Webzone:

"He was 12 weeks out, and that meant it was time to throw. He did so and responded really well. He's just had one session thus far, but we're incredibly encouraged by that. And Brock's a worker. If you give him a task, he's going to do everything in his power."

This is encouraging news, and it appears as if Purdy is slightly ahead in his recovery.

That said, it's one thing to throw a football. It's another to have the necessary arm strength to be adequate enough for in-game situations.

Purdy still has a long way to go, and the next few weeks and months will be more about building that arm strength and getting back into football shape.
