Injured 49ers All-Pro cracks Madden 25's top 10 list

Despite suffering a torn ACL last year, Talanoa Hufanga managed to work his way onto Madden 25's top 10 list of safeties.
Given their impressive roster, it shouldn't come as a big surprise the San Francisco 49ers are filling up EA Sports Madden 25's lists of the 10 best players per position.
Already, EA Sports named All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey as its cover athlete for the hit video game series, and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk made his way to the No. 9 spot among wide receivers.
There are bound to be plenty more Niners landing on top-10 lists for Madden 25, and ratings-reveal week will continue until Aug. 3
One of those named to a top-10 list is San Francisco's All-Pro safety, Talanoa Hufanga, who managed to hit No. 9 on the list of safeties, as revealed by EA Sports on Monday:
Owning an 88 overall grade, the fourth-year pro will look to bounce back from a devastating torn ACL suffered last season that prevented him from partaking in the 49ers' run up to the Super Bowl last February.
Despite the notable setback, Hufanga is eager to get back on the field and is aiming for full availability by Week 1.
Reclaiming his starting job might not be automatic, though.
Hufanga's injury opened up the door for then-rookie defensive back Ji'Ayir Brown to be featured in a prominent role, and Brown looks every part a reliable starter. Additionally, the Niners used a fourth-round draft pick on Malik Mustapha, who could be a dark horse to seize a starting job right away, too, provided Hufanga isn't quite ready to begin the regular season.
Those are questions San Francisco will have to address in training camp, though.
However, Hufanga's top-10 Madden ranking can't hurt his stock value. And if the 49ers were fielding a team strictly based on Madden ratings, Hufanga would easily be the go-to choice.
If only things were that simple, as in a video game.
