Free-agent targets 49ers can revisit with 2024 NFL Draft now over

Right tackle Billy Turner
The 49ers surprisingly didn't use an early pick in the draft on an offensive lineman, opting to grab interior lineman Dominick Puni in Round 4. And they didn't use free agency to find an upgrade over right tackle Colton McKivitz either.
Perhaps the Niners are more comfortable with McKivitz's presence than most fans, but it would still be wise to identify and perhaps even sign someone who'd be a potential upgrade.
The free-agent market is notably thin with clear-cut upgrades at right tackle, but former New York Jets lineman Billy Turner should be in the mix.
Turner, 32 years old and a former third-round pick of the Miami Dolphins way back in 2014, spent three years with the Green Bay Packers between 2019 and 2021, operating in a scheme not unlike that of San Francisco.
While Pro Football Focus credited Turner with allowing four sacks last season, signing him on the cheap would either provide a modest upgrade over McKivitz, or at the very least, spark some healthy competition to push the latter to improve.
