No. 2: Rams charge in with big money on a tight wallet
While this is the Los Angeles Rams team in the NFL that won seven of its last eight games to make the playoffs last year, LA has far fewer question marks than Arizona.
Sure, it may be worthy to point out the signing of offensive guard Jonah Jackson for three years at $51 million, but spending an average of $7 million a year on a defensive back who is on the wrong side of 30 years old is also laughable.
The Rams gave three years as well to cornerback Darious Williams for $22.5 million. He returns to his original team after matching his career-high in interceptions, four, and setting a career-best in passes defended with 19.
That's a lot of money to spend without resolving the burning question: Who takes over for quarterback Matthew Stafford?
An overpaid guard or member of the secondary cannot.
