Brock Purdy is set to make his fourth playoff start with the San Francisco 49ers. Last year, he was a rookie and shocked the world by helping lead the Niners to the NFC Championship Game where an injury took him out of the game and hit the offense hard.

This time around, Purdy isn't a stranger in the NFL. Teams know what he's capable of doing yet he got absolutely blasted by former NFL executive Amy Trask. When doing an interview with 95.7 The Game, Trask said there would be four games and eight quarterbacks playing in the divisional round this weekend. She said "We have seven terrific QBs and Brock Purdy."

Ouch.

I get that Purdy doesn't have the same resumé as guys like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen this time of year but to say that he's the lowest of the low out of the remaining quarterbacks is disrespectful. Purdy has played well since getting thrust into action last season and his 2-1 playoff record shows that he can win these games.

Trask is incredibly smart and knows the game well but she's off base here for sure. Purdy might not be the main reason why the Niners are successful but he's a big part of this team. As we saw in the NFC Championship Game last year, things crumble without him.

Purdy and the 49ers host the seventh-seeded Packers on Saturday and while he's already proven himself to be a capable NFL starter, it looks like there's more fuel here for Mr. Irrelevant.
