16 former 49ers who remain without a team in NFL free agency
Former 49ers who are free agents: TE Tyler Kroft
Tyler Kroft only played one season with the 49ers in 2022. He had four receptions for 57 yards. Last season with the Miami Dolphins, he played in eight games but had no catches.
Kroft would make for a fun answer on 49ers trivia night at the local pub, but it remains to be seen what his market will look like this offseason.
Former 49ers who are free agents: TE Blake Bell
Why not one more traitor 49er who wound up being on the Chiefs for their Super Bowl last year? Blake Bell was drafted by the Niners in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He did very little and the team moved on from him after two seasons.
Much like Jerick McKinnon and Blaine Gabbert, he did almost nothing and received a Super Bowl ring. Actually, two, since he was on the team in 2022 as well. Over the last two seasons, Bell has seven catches for 46 yards.
Travis Kelce better watch out with a tight end like that breathing down his neck, right?
Bell, McKinnon, and Gabbert seem like pretty good candidates to eventually sell their Super Bowl rings on an episode of Pawn Stars in about five years. They probably feel a little guilty about having them, so why not make some money off of it.
Well, there you have it. All of the non-2023 49ers who are available in free agency. Some of these players may be off the board pretty soon while other may never suit up in the NFL ever again.
So goes the career of a professional athlete.
