16 former 49ers who remain without a team in NFL free agency
Former 49ers who are free agents: WR Marquise Goodwin
49ers fans may remember Marquise Goodwin for his speed and ability to run deep routes. The veteran had a solid season with the Niners before injuries and better talent pushed him out of a starting role.
He has bounced around since then, playing for the Seattle Seahawks, and most recently, the Cleveland Browns. A reunion with the 49ers can be ruled out since they already have five wide receivers under contract and may want to add a more talented option in free agency or draft one.
Former 49ers who are free agents: RB Matt Breida
Once a promising young running back for the 49ers, Matt Breida eventually fell out of favor due to fumbles and the emergence of Raheem Mostert.
Last season was a rough one with the Giants as he only had 151 rushing yards on 55 attempts. Those numbers do not inspire a lot of confidence, so it may be quite a while before Breida finds a home in free agency.
The final free agents are former tight ends for the Niners.
