4 former 49ers QB's who are free agents (and one who will be soon)
There are several former 49ers quarterbacks who will be free agents as well as one who may join them fairly soon.
Former 49ers available in free agency: Josh Johnson
The journeyman quarterback Josh Johnson has had four separate stints on the 49ers in his career. The most infamous of these came in 2022 when he was forced to fill in for Purdy in the NFC Championship game.
Johnson struggled in that game before getting injured and leaving the 49ers with no quarterbacks who were physically capable of throwing the football. Ahh, good times.
Johnson spent last year with the Ravens and will surely bounce around a few more times before his career is done.
At this point, he really should just try to play for all 32 NFL teams.
The final quarterback surveyed is not a free agent yet, but all signs point to him being available in free agency.
