5 cornerbacks 49ers can't afford to ignore in the 2025 NFL Draft

The 49ers should look at these potential 2025 NFL Draft prospects to shore up the cornerback position next year.

Another Big Ten standout, Sebastian Castro is in his senior year at Iowa. He forced a fumble in the monstrous shutout against Illinois State.

He, too, recorded three interceptions last year. Just like Will Johnson, the Oak Lawn, Illinois, native returned one for a touchdown in 2023.

Castro had eight passes defended last year. In addition, he was responsible for another forced fumble and a sack.

As San Francisco may need to replace Charvarius Ward and/or Deommodore Lenoir, this collegiate athlete is a viable option. He could be available on Day 2.

Castro may be just under 6-foot, but he packs a punch for his size. A very aggressive and physical defensive back like this one can make the Niners secondary a threat next year.
