Christian McCaffrey is the first-half MVP of the Thanksgiving game vs. Seahawks
Christian McCaffrey is absolutely dominating the first half of the this Thanksgiving night game against the Seahawks. Let's take a look at what his performance looks like.
As Thanksgiving Day festivities are winding down, or picking up depending on where in the country you are located, the San Francisco 49ers are up against the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 24-3 at the half.
Dynamic running back Christian McCaffrey has been excellent for the 49ers through the game's first two quarters. He's a huge part of why the 49ers are up big against the Seahawks.
McCaffrey rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns in the first half of the game. He also added four receptions for 17 yards receiving.
McCaffrey was already leading the league in rushing in the 2023 NFL season. The numbers from tonight will jump him even further on the rushing yards list. His second touchdown of the game put him at 11 rushing touchdowns for the season, a single-season franchise record for a 49ers player.
His performance so far in the game puts him at an even better standing to win the Offensive Player of the Year award.
McCaffrey's first-half performance gives the 49ers an excellent shot at winning this game for their third consecutive victory. This would be a great bounce-back win after their three-game slump earlier in the season.
If he finishes the game with over 100 yards rushing and another touchdown, then he'll definitely be eating turkey in the middle of Lumen Field post game.
They'll have to make sure though to not let up in the second half. McCaffrey will need to keep his foot on the gas and finish strong.
