Christian McCaffrey didn't muck about, plunging into the end zone to give the 49ers a 21-7 lead and extend his touchdown streak to 14 games in a row.

Throughout life there's three things we can count on in the world:

- Death
- Taxes
- Christian McCaffrey hitting the end zone

This blockbuster matchup vs the Dallas Cowboys and their stout defense was always one to circle on the calendar and a game that would make it difficult for the 49ers star running back to extend his franchise record of most consecutive games with a touchdown.

Difficult, but it wasn't impossible.

McCaffrey plunged into the end zone to give the 49ers a strong 21-7 lead into the half, extending his franchise record to 14 games and slowly but surely inching his way to the longstanding NFL record which currently stands at 18 games.

The once-maligned trade has turned into more than the 49ers or the faithful could ever have imagined, with the team not losing a single game that McCaffrey has started with the exception of the NFC Championship debacle that ended up being out of the hands of the team.

But with the way the 49ers are traveling right now, there's no reason why McCaffrey can't make a real tilt at the NFL record and make it his own. But that'll come later.

For now, there's still a blockbuster Sunday Night Football game to worry about. The 49ers currently have a strong 21-7 lead at the half. It's going to take an equally strong game on both sides of the ball to keep the score in the 49ers favor and get the team to 5-0 to start the season.
