Christian McCaffrey has 16 straight games with a touchdown, inches closer to NFL record
Christian McCaffrey is inevitable. He now has 16 straight games with a touchdown, getting to within distance of a longstanding NFL record.
The San Francisco 49ers are currently having a hard time of it being down 16-7 at halftime to the Minnesota Vikings, but at least there's one constant with running back Christian McCaffrey once again getting to the end zone.
This now makes it 16 straight games that McCaffrey has hit the endzone, stretching the franchise record even further and now putting him to within irresistable distance of a very longstanding NFL record.

The current record stands at 18 games. Legendary Baltimore Colts running back and Hall of Famer Lenny Moore holds the record, having scored in 18 consecutive games ranging from 1963 to 1965. The record has been matched by another member of Canton in running back LaDainian Tomlinson who tied the record in games ranging to 2004 and 2005. Moore missed some games during his record while Tomlinson did not, so there's some conjecture as to whether or not Moore's record counts as truly consecutive.
McCaffrey simply must now score against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Tampa Buccaneers to tie the record in the next three weeks (the 49ers have their bye week between those games), and then score against the Jacksonville Jaguars to make the record his own.
But that'll come later, for now the talented running back will be focusing to get the 49ers over the line in the second half and help them to a 6-1 record. If he can score a second touchdown to open the second half, that'd be very helpful indeed.
