Charvarius Ward gave Chiefs some perfect bulletin board material ahead of Super Bowl
Super Bowl LVIII kicks off on Sunday afternoon and it'll be the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. Charvarius Ward has been a member of both of these teams, spending four years in Kansas City after they signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State in 2018.
Ward worked his way up to CB1 in Kansas City and won a Super Bowl with them in the 2019 season. By the end of his rookie contract, he was one of the most highly sought-after cornerbacks on the free-agent market and ended up signing a three-year deal worth $40.5 million in the 2022 offseason.
Ward is now in year two of that contract and appearing in another Super Bowl, this time against his former team. When asked what it's like playing for the Niners instead of KC, Ward responded with four words: "It's better over here."

Niners fans are likely all responding with "Why, Ward, why?" Why is Ward finding it necessary to poke the bear that is Patrick Mahomes ahead of the quarterback's fourth Super Bowl appearance?
When asked to elaborate on what exactly was better about playing for the Niners over the Chiefs, Ward doubled down and said "Everything". I'm not sure what his strategy is here but hey, if Ward truly means it, then Niners fans should be happy that he's happy.
