After beating the Patriots in Week 4, Brock Purdy reminded Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey who's the fastest.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has had to shake plenty of criticisms over his young career.

Everything from being the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, merely being a product of the All-Pro talent around him, succeeding only because of head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense, not having the strongest arm and not being the most athletically gifted quarterback out there.

One by one, Purdy has worked toward silencing those critics and doubts.

As far as the athleticism is concerned, Purdy showcased his willingness to throw deep in Week 4 against the New England Patriots, and his Next Gen Stats passing chart reveals four passes of at least 20 yards.

However, Purdy might be prouder of his scrambling speed. Funny enough, when speaking to reporters after the game, he also tossed a not-so-subtle jab at two of his "more athletic" teammates, wide receiver Deebo Samuel and running back Christian McCaffrey.

All in good fun, of course.

Brock Purdy reminds everyone he's faster than Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffrey

After the Niners' 30-13 home victory over the New England Patriots, Purdy was asked about his athleticism. The quarterback's response was pretty funny.

"I think my 10-yard split, just to give you guys some perspective, it was faster than Christian's and Deebo, I think," Purdy responded. "You guys can fact check me, but that's what I mean. I think I just have enough to get out of the pocket and make a play, pick up 5, 7 yards here and there. So I'm not [Baltimore Ravens quarterback] Lamar Jackson by any means. But anyways, just do what it takes."

Indeed, KNBR 680 decided to fact check Purdy, and the results were revealing:

Purdy's 10-yard split at the NFL Combine was 1.64 seconds, whereas McCaffrey's was 1.67 and Samuel's was 1.70.

So, who's the fastest? Purdy, at least by this measure.

"Seems like a great athlete to me," linebacker Fred Warner added. "Keep running for those first downs, buddy. Love that."

Granted, Purdy might lose a footrace a full length of the field to both Samuel and McCaffrey.

But, at least in those short-area sprints, the San Francisco signal-caller would sneakily win such a race.
