Yes, it actually happened. And there was no TNT, anvils, giant magnets or boxes labeled "ACME" involved.

Apparently, there's a hilarious story about Brock Purdy saving a reporter from a potential coyote attack.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has already developed his star power on the field following an MVP-caliber campaign in 2023 that helped take his team to the Super Bowl.

Off the field, Purdy is also increasing his own image and persona.

The likable Iowa State product, who hasn't shied away from his farm-boy roots, is appearing in numerous commercials, including well-known brands like Toyota and John Deere. While his brand is certainly on the rise, Purdy's off-field accolades extend beyond what's shown between television segments.

In fact, Purdy might be something of a superhero.

Brock Purdy reveals hilarious story of rescuing a reporter from a coyote

Queue up fond memories of Wile E. Coyote, the infamous Looney Tunes cartoon character who could never catch that roadrunner despite his endless supply of TNT, anvils and boxes labled "ACME."

Only in this recent tale that Purdy chatted about with Pat McAfee on The Pat McAfee Show, the coyote was stalking a CBS reporter

As McAfee summarized (with NSFW language), the incident took place during the filming of Purdy's John Deere tractor commercial. A coyote was tracking the reporter and her pet dog while in San Francisco.

Purdy called out the very large coyote, according to the news report. And, about the incident, the modest quarterback simply acknowledged it.

"I can't believe that was a real thing," Purdy said. "But she walked by and said she was a news anchor, and I was like, 'Dude, I just saved a news anchor's life from getting eaten by a coyote.' It's real, man, I can confirm it."

The Niners quarterback also pointed out how the coyote looked like a "mini wolf," but he ultimately scared the animal away.

And no one was hurt in the making of the commercial or the deterring of the coyote.

Hilarious.
