4 bold predictions for 49ers 2023 season

No NFL season goes completely according to plan, and the San Francisco 49ers know this well.

49ers bold prediction No. 4: Niners make it back to NFC Championship anyway (and win it this time)

Even if Seattle won the division, no San Francisco fan would care as long as the 49ers managed to find their way into the playoffs, knock off the Seahawks and/or Dallas Cowboys within the postseason somehow and then make it into the NFC Championship game for a third consecutive year.

It's not too hard a prediction to make. The Niners, Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and possibly the Seahawks are the only bona fide threats to the NFC crown this year. And while there are a number of "could be" teams, the road to the Super Bowl through the national conference is much easier than through the stacked AFC.

So, provided San Francisco can get through whatever challenges that arise, particularly at quarterback and within the NFC West, a trip to the NFC Championship game is actually not that bold a prediction.

However, after having lost the two previous championship games, the law of averages will say the 49ers win this time.
