The 49ers play the Seahawks for the second time in three weeks, and the Niners will look to sweep the season series for the second year in a row.

After years of staring up at the Seattle Seahawks in the division standings, it appears as if the San Francisco 49ers have now fully turned the table on this NFC West rivalry.

Already having walloped the Hawks on Thanksgiving by a score of 31-13, the Niners are poised to sweep the 2023 season series if they're able to pull off yet another victory, this time at home at Levi's Stadium and in light of playing head coach Pete Carroll's squad twice in three weeks.

If it was any other squad, San Francisco's Week 14 contest could be a trap game after such a high-charged win last Sunday over the top-seeded Philadelphia Eagles.

Thankfully, it's Seattle. No shortage of reasons for quarterback Brock Purdy and the 49ers to want to play a just as hard this go-around.

Let's take a look at what's on tap for the second installment of this NFC West showdown.

NFC West standings entering Week 14

The Niners have been in the driver's seat of the NFC West ever since bouncing back from that three-game losing streak earlier this season, and the Week 12 victory over quarterback Geno Smith and the Seahawks helped San Francisco get halfway to owning a crucial tiebreaker, should the two teams finish the regular season with identical records.

Heading into Week 14, though, it'll be tough for Seattle to climb out of the No. 3 spot after losing three games in a row and having fallen to the second-place Los Angeles Rams twice already this year:

  1. San Francisco 49ers (9-3)
  2. Los Angeles Rams (6-6)
  3. Seattle Seahawks (6-6)
  4. Arizona Cardinals (3-10)

Should the 49ers defeat the Seahawks on Sunday, there'll be four games remaining in the regular season, and the Niners would have the head-to-head tiebreaker, which would eliminate the Hawks' chances of winning the NFC West.
