Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (Week 13)
Perhaps the biggest and most exciting game of San Francisco's 2023 schedule is a rematch of last season's NFC Championship game, the deflating loss versus the Philadelphia Eagles in which Brock Purdy suffered his torn UCL and left the 49ers offense high and dry.
In fairness, the Niners defense managed to contain Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts fairly well for the first half of that game, and it was only when that defense began to tire that Hurts started to show some legitimacy.
One can only wonder what would have happened if Purdy didn't get hurt.
At any rate, Hurts could have easily been the NFL MVP a season ago, and he'll look to achieve that feat this season after finally cashing in on a blockbuster contract that makes him the highest-paid player in league history.
Perhaps San Francisco's defense can suggest to Philly that spending this kind of money on Hurts was an overpayment.
Signs point to it not likely being the case, though. Hurts is pretty darned good.
