49ers schedule 2023: Ranking 5 toughest quarterbacks Niners will face

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (Week 5)

After an embarrassing Wild Card loss at home to the 49ers and before a rematch in the playoffs with the Niners again the following season, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott offered the following quote:

"That’s a scar. That one hurts. It will hurt for the rest of my career, and it will be a motivation throughout my career, just to make sure I’m preparing the right way, leaving no doubt in the preparation."

It didn't matter. San Francisco beat Prescott and the Cowboys again in the postseason, knocking them off this time in the divisional round at Levi's Stadium, making it back-to-back years in which Dallas suffered playoff defeats to the 49ers.

A nice turnaround from all those embarrasing Niners losses to the Cowboys in the playoffs during the 1970s and early 1990s, right?

At any rate, San Francisco will host Prescott and the Cowboys for Sunday Night Football in Week 5, and there's no doubting he and the rest of his team will be seeking vengeance (again) for what transpired the previous two years.

Prescott is still at the helm of a potent offense, and it'll be quite the showdown under the bright lights of Sunday night.
