49ers roster: Who's on the bubble, who isn't after 2 weeks of training camp

There have been a few changes since Niner Noise's last 49ers bubble watch for 2023.

49ers roster bubble watch: Wide receiver

Lock: Brandon Aiyuk, Ray-Ray McCloud, Deebo Samuel
Strong bubble: Ronnie Bell*, Danny Gray, Jauan Jennings
Weak bubble: Chris Conley, Tay Martin, Willie Snead
Long shot: Dazz Newsome, Isaiah Winstead*

The top end of the Niners' wide receiver room is set with Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and return specialist Ray-Ray McCloud occupying the first three spots. Jauan Jennings might be bumped down from a lock to a strong-bubble spot, but San Francisco certainly values his willingness to block in addition to his third-down prowess.

Either way, at least three and likely four of what'd probably be six spots on the wide receiving depth chart are accounted for, meaning there'll be quite the camp competition for the final spot or two that's up for grabs.

Second-year pro Danny Gray, who had just one catch on seven targets for 10 yards a season ago, has reportedly made massive strides during camp, and he could now find himself in serious contention for a roster spot, especially if one of the older veterans like Chris Conley or Willie Snead fail to do enough.

What that means for seventh-round rookie Ronnie Bell, though, is anyone's guess. He's in pretty good roster shape, based on his earlier offseason workouts, but players like Gray threaten him.
