49ers running back roster bubble

Lock: Kyle Juszczyk, Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell
Strong bubble: Tyrion Davis-Price, Jordan Mason
Weak bubble: Khalan Laborn*
Long shot: Jack Colletto*, Ronald Awatt*

A few rookies to look at here, and each of them could seriously shake up the depth chart if they impress enough during training camp.

Case in point, either of the two running backs, Khalan Laborn or Ronald Awatt, could feasibly push out second-year pro Tyrion Davis-Price, who has worst statistical numbers his rookie season than one-and-done 49er Trey Sermon's 167 rush yards back in 2021.

Davis-Price has the edge, being a former third-round draft pick. But he'll easily be bumped down to the weaker side of the bubble if he struggles or either Laborn or Awatt impress.

Look for Jordan Mason to be the primary backup to Christian McCaffrey over the oft-injured Elijah MItchell.

And, while Jack Colletto is a provocative multi-position player, gadget players typically have a tough time finding a role at the NFL level.
