Rookie tight end Cameron Latu might actually be relieved at the meniscus injury he suffered during the preseason finale.

That injury probably saved his tenure with San Francisco after struggling with both drops and fumbles during camp and the preseason, both of which were probably going to ticket him to a quick cut after being drafted in Round 3 last April out of Alabama.

Instead, Latu probably winds up redshirting his rookie year on an injury list instead of making the 53-man roster.

As for the rest behind All-Pro George Kittle?

Well, it's about as fluid as it was before the 49ers drafted Latu and fellow rookie Brayden Willis.
