49ers vs. Packers history in NFL playoffs (2020s)

The Niners wrapped up their fourth consecutive playoff victory over the Packers in January of 2022 and had to do so by visiting Green Bay amid even more frigid and icy conditions.

Again, however, special teams play turned out to be a massive difference-maker.

2021 Divisional Round: 49ers 13, Packers 10

The Packers were the No. 1 seed hosting the No. 6 seed 49ers. This would be Aaron Rodgers' fourth loss versus San Francisco in the postseason.

San Francisco's special teams blocked a critical punt by Green Bay, which safety Talanoa Hufanga scooped up and rushed into the end zone for a momentum-swinging touchdown.

Then, Robbie Gould would kick the game-winning field goal.

2023 Divisional Round: What's next?

The heavy favorite, San Francisco will hope to silence a Green Bay offense that put up 48 points on the road against the Dallas Cowboys on Wild Card weekend. The 49ers, as the No. 1 seed and with a first-round playoff bye, are rested and will have their abundance of offensive weapons in Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle and more.

The winner gets another NFC Championship berth, and the loser has their season ended once more.
