5 49ers moments from 2023 you (probably) forgot about

With 17 weeks in the NFL season it's easy to forget what happened back in September. And, when you're having an exciting year like the San Francisco 49ers are, you just can't remember it all.

No. 1: Recognizing players for their performance on and off the field

Earlier this season, former 49ers kicker Robbie Gould announced his retirement. Gould spent 18 seasons in the NFL and will certainly be remembered as one of the best kickers in franchise history,

Gould will forever be remembered for kicking clutch game-winning field goals including sending the 49ers to the next round against the Packers in Green Bay.

After the announcement was made, Levi's Stadium had all their digital signs on saying "Thank you Robbie."

In early December, the 49ers announced defensive lineman Arik Armstead as the team's 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee. It's an award many players want to be nominated for as it recognizes a player's performance on the field and off the field in the community.

This is Armstead's fourth straight nomination, and you can watch his interview with the NFL Network talking about it here.

There's been so many more moments this season, but these five could easily be overlooked and forgotten about. So best to bring these back into conversation as we head into 2024.
