49ers inactives: Aaron Banks misses 2nd straight game with injury
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers will have to turn to Jon Feliciano again at left guard with Aaron Banks out of action in Week 11.
All things told, it's not bad for the San Francisco 49ers to be down one starter this deep into the 2023 season.
The Niners had a relatively thin injury report heading into their Week 11 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the only two players ruled out were starting left guard Aaron Banks and reserve offensive lineman Nick Zakelj.
Banks, who is dealing with a turf-toe injury, was already declared to miss a couple of weeks by head coach Kyle Shanahan, and the fact that San Francisco hasn't placed the third-year pro on injured reserve suggests he's likely to return soon.
Just not this week.
Zakelj, meanwhile, suffered a torn bicep in the 49ers' Week 10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he'll go onto injured reserve after undergoing season-ending surgery.
Let's check out the Niners' list of inactive players for Sunday's tilt against the Bucs, shall we?
49ers inactives for Week 11 vs. Buccaneers
San Francisco doesn't have to dip too deep into its crop of reserves for this game, and Shanahan elected to name the following scratches for Week 11:
- OL Aaron Banks
- TE Brayden Willis
- DL Kalia Davis
- RB Tyrion Davis-Price
- QB Brandon Allen
- LB Jalen Graham

In Banks' stead, the 49ers will start veteran lineman Jon Feliciano, who got the nod last week versus the Jags and performed admirably enough to warrant consideration for a potential starting role, perhaps at right guard over Spencer Burford.
But that's a question for another time, and the Niners will focus on beating Tampa Bay when both teams kick off from Levi's Stadium at 4:05 p.m. ET.
