By Peter Panacy
The 49ers have their 2023 home opener this Thursday night against the visiting New York Giants, and we've got what you'll want to know about the game.
It's always difficult to go 2-0 on a two-game road trip, particularly when one of those games involves traveling clear across the country.
Yet that's what the San Francisco 49ers have done to open up their 2023 campaign, first beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in dominant fashion to open up the regular season, then eventually overcoming the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2.
Now, head coach Kyle Shanahan and Co. return home for the Niners' regular-season home opener, and they'll do so by hosting the 1-1 New York Giants for Week 3's installment of Thursday Night Football.
It'll also be San Francisco's first of five primetime games of the young season.
Where is the 49ers and Giants game going to be played?
The 49ers are the home team for this contest, meaning Week 3 against the G-Men will be played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, which is about a 45-minute drive south of San Francisco.
