Why 49ers defense will dominate Rams (again) in Week 2

Don't be shocked if the Niners defense absolutely embarrasses Matthew Stafford and the Rams on Sunday.

Linebackers

Many have called the linebacker tandem of Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw one of the best in the game. And they sure go out of their way to prove it.

In Week 1, the Rams had 92 total rushing yards. The 49ers likely will not hold Los Angeles to under 50 like they did to the Steelers, but it's also very likely that the Rams will not repeat their Week 1 numbers on the ground.

Warner and Greenlaw will be all over the field delivering punishing hits to running backs. They will be stuffing runners at the line and stopping them for no gains and losses.

In pass defense, look for Warner to again be a ballhawk in the the middle of the field.

Prediction: The linebackers continue their great tackling and discipline, and hold the Rams to under 70 yards rushing, while allowing zero rushing touchdowns. Also, look for Warner to get his first interception of the season.
