49ers Day 3 NFL Draft picks: When is San Francisco's next pick?
By Peter Panacy
After staying put in Round 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft, the 49ers traded twice on Day 2 and still have six picks left on Day 3.
The San Francisco 49ers hope to have addressed their three biggest needs in the opening three rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Staying put at No. 31 overall, the Niners grabbed Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall in Round 1 before trading down a spot with the Kansas City Chiefs in Round 2 and selecting Florida State cornerback Renardo Green to close out that round.
Then, in a trade-up with the Philadelphia Eagles in Round 3, San Francisco took Kansas offensive lineman Dominick Puni at No. 86 overall.
The 49ers started off with 10 picks in the draft and still have six more selections to make, barring more trades on day three.

The Niners won't be on the clock again until near the end of Round 4, using the pick acquired from the Dallas Cowboys in last year's trade involving quarterback Trey Lance.
Unless a trade takes place, here's the list of remaining picks at general manager John Lynch's disposal:
- Round 4, No. 124 overall (from Cowboys)
- Round 4, No. 135 overall (compensatory)
- Round 5, No. 173 overall (from Chiefs)
- Round 5, No. 176 overall (compensatory)
- Round 6, No. 215 overall (compensatory)
- Round 7, No. 251 overall

San Francisco used one of its three fourth-round picks in the trade-up with Philly while also netting a fifth-rounder from KC for that one-pick trade-down in Round 2.
While trades tend to be a little rarer late on day three, it's possible the 49ers engineer some movement again, considering it's unlikely that nine rookie draftees would all make the 53-man roster when the regular season arrives.
The third day of the draft, Rounds 4 through 7, begins on Saturday, April 27 at 12 p.m. ET from Detroit.
