49ers should beware these 5 threatening NFC teams
NFC Team No. 1: Philadelphia Eagles
Who else could it be? The only team in the NFC that would be a consensus pick to be a better team than San Francisco, the Philadelphia Eagles are the team to beat in the conference in 2023.
It needs to be said that general manager Howie Roseman is the best general manager in the game, but it's definitely doesn't hurt at all when such easy decisions fall into his lap as well. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter was the most talented player in the draft for some, and despite some red flags off the field, it was a slam dunk to trade up one spot to No. 9 to get him. They then managed to nab EDGE Nolan Smith at No. 30, who has elite upside.
This instantly helped fill some gaps from free agency losses, but they weren't done when they grabbed serious steals in offensive tackle Tyler Steen and cornerback Kelee Ringo. Both were in the first round of one or more of my various mock drafts, and it was insanity that they fell as far as they did at Nos. 65 and 105, respectively.
Philly made some waves outside of the draft as well by signing Rashaad Penny and trading for D'Andre Swift in what will be a threatening duo for opposing defenses.
Philadelphia is, of course, led by Jalen Hurts, who took the NFL by storm with a huge season en route to the Super Bowl. Led by strong players on every positional front, there's a reason why the Eagles are considered the favorites to get back to the big dance.
Of course, if the Eagles and the 49ers do meet up in the NFC title game again, it could be a different story entirely. After all, an NFC Championship matchup between the two teams at full strength would be must-see television.
The Eagles are the top threat in the NFC, and the team the 49ers must be more weary of.
