The 49ers need to add some run defense to stop teams gashing them open like they did at the end of the year.
Defensive end Marshawn Kneeland was a strong run defender at Western Michigan who also flashed some pass-rushing potential for the next level.
Kneeland recorded 57 tackles, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2023. The 4.5 sacks tied his output from 2022 as well.
He projects as a two-down defender for the next level, but could still contribute a little on passing downs.
