2024 NFL Mock Draft: Plugging the holes to push 49ers to Super Bowl
The less said about the 49ers' Super Bowl heartbreak, the better for all of us. But that doesn't mean we don't immediately try to go one better next season.
The Niners have their starting duo seemingly set for 2024 with Ji'Ayir Brown and Talanoa Hufanga, but there's no telling how Brown will develop and how Hufanga will come back from a serious ACL injury.
San Francisco needs an insurance policy and someone it can develop.
Utah's Cole Bishop had 60 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and three passes defended for the Utes in 2023. He's decently sized for a safety at 6-foot-1 and 209 pounds, and he has shown blitzing ability with 7.5 sacks combined his last three seasons.
He'd be a quality backup who'd also be able to contribute on special teams right away.
