The end of last week and into this one was a wild time to be a San Francisco 49ers fan, as both Brock Purdy and Fred Warner inked new deals to extend their time with the franchise for several more seasons.

On this episode of the Niner Noise Podcast, your hosts (Robert Morrison and Akshaj Dwivedula), look at the new contracts signed by both the 49ers' quarterback and linebacker and get into all of the financial details, starting with Purdy's.

You can listen to the entire episode below:

That's where the bulk of the episode lives, as the quarterback is the most important position in the sport, and the deal is the biggest total money contract in the history of the Niners. So there's a lot to discuss about what the value of the contract means for the team and what it says to Purdy.

Your hosts really dive into that particular part of the conversation, not too dissimilar to the national discussion around the deal, since the money now means that Purdy has to be the guy rather than just one of the guys who helps San Francisco win.

There is room for improvement on the quarterback's part, to be sure, and there is acknowledgment of Purdy's work ethic and how is isn't going to rest on his laurels just because he signed this big money deal.

For the Warner portion of the episode, the discussion is a good deal more gushing, as your hosts rightly recognizing the linebacker as being the best at his position in the NFL, something that the contract only seeks to symbolize.

The last part of the episode focuses on the rule change votes that happened this week, centered on the Tush Push ban, playoff reseeding, and flag football at the Olympics. Your hosts agree on a 49ers player they think would be fun to see play on the team if the Olympics were this summer at not in 2028.
