Nick Bosa feels the heat from fans during lackluster Week 10 vs. Buccaneers
By Peter Panacy
Nick Bosa was almost entirely a non-factor in the 49ers' Week 10 game against the Buccaneers, and he's hearing it.
San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa had plenty of reasons to be fired up when he and his team took the field in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
First, the obvious. Bosa had to be excited about the results of the last Presidential election, and that's all that'll be said about this here.
Second, Bosa had to feel rested with the Niners coming off a Week 9 bye. And if he knew he'd be matching up against backup tackle Justin Skule, a former teammate who took over in-game for injured starting left tackle Tristan Wirfs, Bosa would be even more thrilled than usual.
Oh, and Bosa got to return to his home state of Florida. That had to provide some motivation, too.
Unfortunately, whatever motivation Bosa might have had didn't show up on the production side until way late during San Francisco's Week 10 bout.
At least he delivered a sack late in the game after the 49ers retook the lead, salvaging his efforts to an extent but not preventing him from feeling some heat.
And he heard about it on social media.
Nick Bosa gets slammed on social media after underwhelming vs. Buccaneers
Bosa couldn't take much advantage of matching up against Skule, which led to Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield not having to worry too much about pressure from the former Defensive Player of the Year's side.
But the lack of pressure wasn't the only issue. Tack on a brutal missed tackle on Tampa Bay running back Bucky Irving, and it's safe to say Bosa didn't have his best game until his crucial sack late in the fourth quarter.
Hopefully for his sake, and the rest of San Francisco's defense, Bosa bounces back in Week 11 when the 49ers host the Seattle Seahawks.
